Private donations

Large donations to save our hotels from destruction

Examples from the past have shown that owners of historic hotels are sometimes forced to sell their establishments to domestic and foreign companies that pursue only profit-specific goals. Valuable historical and cultural properties in Switzerland have been partially or completely lost, or have undergone careless conversions.

Our association founded Historic Hotel AG (HHAG for short), a 100% subsidiary, in 2020. With this company, we have created a vehicle to remove hotel businesses from speculation, and to ensure the preservation of historic buildings as a cultural asset and the use of the hotel.

With your philanthropic commitment, you can have an effective say and help protect hotels from being sold to investors with speculative intentions.

Legacy

We want to preserve the history of Swiss hotels, with their impressive buildings, for the future.

We prevent the history of Swiss hotels from being destroyed by speculative interests.

We support the historic hotels of Switzerland, some of which not only have to carry out restoration work to preserve the historic character of their buildings, but also face the usual economic challenges.

You can support us by considering our association in your last will and testament, thereby continuing Swiss hotel history beyond your lifetime. Our association is exempt from any inheritance and gift tax. The full value of your bequest therefore flows directly into our commitment.

Our promise

We recognize that a bequest in your will is a personal decision. Out of respect for your decision, we make the following promise:

  • We will not pressure you to make a decision or put ourselves in competition with your family and loved ones
  • The amount that you bequeath is none of our business and we will not ask you about it
  • Situations can change. We realize that you could find yourself in a different situation and remove us from your will
  • We will use your assets for the purpose of the association to the best of our knowledge and belief. We will honor a specific purpose
  • We will support you in a discreet and professional manner.
