The archive at the hotel

Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz is not only the first hotel in Switzerland to bear the name ‘Palace’, but also the first in the country to have set up a fire-, water- and theft-proof room for its historical documents and artefacts.

The former Swiss Hotel Archive Foundation used several off-seasons to examine, organise, catalogue and, in some cases, digitise the exceptional archive collection, which dates back to the 1860s. The Swiss Hotel Heritage Foundation continues this commitment to preserving and promoting historical hotel archives today.
